Introduction
Elaine Drahan is a professor of English and Germanic studies at Stanford University. She's an expert in Welsh and British manuscripts from the period roughly 600 to 1300 AD. In her classes, she surprisingly uses a lot of machine learning in her work. We have to recognize what the people who didn't write didn't leave a message about what their hopes and dreams were. So there's kind of a detective story to figure out, based on what was written, what might not have been written.
