I think even worse now than like 20 years ago. We have to compel people to be embarrassed for not knowing about science. Then they'll come to it on their own. I'm thinking of the 60s when we're going to the moon. It was hard for someone to rise up with the strong pseudoscience posture back then, because science technology and engineering was delivering to you in the pages of the daily papers.
