The Effects of Awareness of Cognitive Biases on Memory
Awareness of cognitive biases and ways that we might be manipulated really does inoculate us in some sense. Once misinformation integrates itself into your mental model of how something works it becomes like a game of whack-a-mole so once you correct one one falsehood another one pops up somewhere else. People start paying attention when they think other people are manipulating them which is part of the inoculation process.
