Are NHS Staff Shortfalls Really Creating Problems?
Every time the NHS recruits staff, it also tends to raise its target for how many staff it wants. Is this just some sort of bureaucratic game? Or are these shortfalls actually causing problems? Ultimately, this number of vacancies is a bit arbitrary. But what matters is the difficulty that the NHS is having in providing an acceptable standard of care.
