Teaching Primary Reading in a Classroom
I wish I'd gone for say the 400 page version of the book where the second half is just me talking about this stuff obviously. Maybe if I did a bit bolder to lean into the art side of the art and science of teaching primary reading there might have been more on that. There's much more to be said about spoken language development but it was done for brevity. And yeah, while those who really value explicit instruction might say now just tell them I don't think that that leads necessarily to the best kind of comprehension instruction.
