The jackalope is a mythical creature of the American West looking for the most part like your run of the mill jackrabbit except with antelope antlers sticking out of its head. Legend has it that these creatures are so fierce that jackalope hunters wore stovepipes over their legs to avoid being gored by their horns. The idea of a horn rabbit appears far from and way before 1930s, Wyoming, they've appeared in medieval folklore, Renaissance books of natural history, and the myths of indigenous people of Central America.
