The Role of Genetics in Age of Occurrence in Gout
Gout is more prevalent in men that three to fourfold more men had Gout than women. Women get Gout at least 10 years on average older than men and if you look at the data that's evident throughout all of the cohorts, it tends to come on about menopause as as U-rate levels come up. We're working in hypothesis that in women the development of comorbidities cardiometabolic disease is a considerable driver of Gout. But we are following up on this and we think that in women at a later onset of age we'll develop these comorbid qualities.
