Can Consciousness Change?

If there is change, do you know it, or do you not know it? If you call it a play of consciousness, can consciousness play? Play implies change. Things appear in consciousness. Just look at your own experience. But the pure experienceer you, the awareness, is there any change going on there? Change is in what you experience, not in the experience,. So change in consciousness is not possible.
