The Aftermath of the Verdict in the Rodney King Case
After the verdict, loud arguments broke out outside the courthouse. Hundreds of people filled with fury and disbelief gathered at the corner of Florence and Normandy. Police received their first call from the intersection just after 5 o'clock. They had no helmets, bulletproof vests or tear gas. It was completely out of control.
