Some of these benches had animal horns coming out of them, so you really couldn't sit on them at all. They were probably there for adornment, elaboration in the house, and probably ritual purposes. And then they loked like, if there were benches, they might be punishment benchesassuing this world wasn't quite as peaceful and benevolent as we're now imagining.
