We often try to present ourselves as if we were in this more ideal mental state where everything's consistent and all inferences are drawn. And then real mental states not only don't draw all relevant inferences, they don't, they aren't always even consistent. So it's worth asking what consequences does this approximation have for our norms and analysis of reasoning?
