Magasthenes: A History of the Moria Empire
Magasthenes, born some time around the 350s and died likely by 290 or 280 BC, was a Greek author who penned a remarkable study of Moria in India known as the Indica. His writings would become the most relied upon work in Europe regarding India until the Middle Ages. Magasthenes has a tendency to repurpose his observations on India into archetypes and imagery that would be recognized by his Greco-Macedonian readers. Sometimes he makes assertions that are flat out incorrect, such as claiming that there was no such thing as slavery in India, and the mythical race of dog-headed people.
