How to Make a Reliable Diode
Researchers had been trying to replace tubes for years. Oll was one of the latest to take up the challenge. The most common solid state diode was the so-called Cat's Whisker Diode. These diodes were a chunk of some type of crystal with a little adjustable metal whisker touching their surface.
