The Importance of Candles in Pagan Ritual
Many religions, from Catholicism to Buddhism to Hinduism use scented incense. We know that the Romans offered burnt incense for the gods also. If you've taken Scandinavia Pinesap and you burn it, it makes a lovely scent. So I see no reason why you shouldn't do this as well. Fire is an important aspect of pagan ritual. This could be achieved with simple candles or oil lamps. The Romans also burned oil lamps for their gods. And these were carried on by the Christians.
