Why Iowa Is a Good Place to Start the Presidential Race

The Iowa caucuses to kick off the presidential race so to speak, it's an accident of history. A lot of people say why should a farm state with a relatively small population start off the sequential process of choosing candidates for the country? But actually as I was saying earlier, Iowa is fairly representative of the country as a whole when you look at major demographic and socioeconomic indicators. Aaron does it seem strange to you? It doesn't but that might be because I've read about it. So just remind us what actually happens in a caucus to those of us who've never been in one.
