I think the opportunity of working on your own really is getting a bunch of different combinations of things. It basically just gives you the energy to keep going. I have gotten some really cool leads and gigs from an indirect result of the writing that I do, even though that's not why I do it. You know in the back of your mind that what you're writing is interesting to somebody out there. So I would say it has been helpful.
