I think that if cable news is the distillation of media today, it's a pretty blunt inspiration. I try to do work that I find personally to be worth spending my time on. Do you think the news media has an obligation to serve the interest of the audience? Of course. Or do you think it has an obligated to serve the audience exactly what it wants, even if what it wants is garbage? No, no, no,no, no,No! You have to have a pretty strong ego to do that. And then it's really important to say it in a way that is engaging and a way that was persuasive.
