If I had to bet on what the next new franchise would be, it wouldn't be one of the obvious choices. Lord of the Rings is an example of a franchise that feels kind of tired to me. Nobody thought Stranger Things was going to be the biggest hit on television. But if all of these franchises come out of nowhere, you need to take those bets.
