We Are Men Because We Are Part of Communities

It is true that none of us will ever know very much, and most of us will see the end of our days without understanding in all its detail and beauty. Most of us will not even know, as a member of any intimate circle, any one who has such knowledge. This possibility, as a universal condition of man's life, is new. Represents, to day, a high and deter hope, not yet a reality. The free association for converse or for common purpose, are acts of creation. It is not merely that without them, the individual is the poorer. Without them, a part of human life, not more or less fundamental than the individual, is foreclosed
