I knew a lot of the DAWALA folks in New York and eventually got to know the PayPal team quite well when they started Battle Hack. It was an interesting time for APIs in general, right? Like it very much felt like sort of like an API renaissance. A lot was going on in those couple of years. So yeah, I think I was probably doing several events a month.
In this episode we’re joined by Sid Maestre, VP of Developer Relations at APIMatic, a platform that simplifies API consumption by automatically generating high-quality SDKs, code samples, dynamic docs, and test cases for your API. Prior to his current role, he was the Director of Developer Relations at Karbon; the Director of Developer Experience & Advocacy at Lob; and is also an experienced public speaker within the industry!
They discuss what it’s like collaborating with marketing in the DevRel world; Sid’s unconventional origins in social sciences; as well as some of the core principles that he’s learned whilst being in DevRel. They also delve into whether it’s your personality or ability that drives your success - which do you think it is?
