The Work of D E I in the Public Sector
I think that for a long time, public facing creatives of color were expected to answer those questions while also performing the extra work of fixing the places. There're so many institutions across all kinds of industries where the very idea of d e i just means more work for the women and people of color and queer people. I'm glad in every conversation that people still think to ask the questions. But there also needs to be a modicum of like, self preservation. It throws me off my game. Ca, scenario, i come out looking like the angry black man, ind stereotyped. Impiar is actually fine either way.
