The Importance of Arethi in Judaism

The Ramban wrote a commentary on Piercao Vogt as well as an extensive introduction called Schmonapra Kim or eight chapters. He explains that the moral virtues and vices exist specifically within the appetite component of the human mind which he divides into five components. And this is where the medotes that the ethical character traits exist, but they turn negative if they are either deficient or exaggerated. This provides for us a link between the concept of Arethi and how it's expressed in Judaism.
