A Trayou - A Classic Greek Quest

Most of the first half of the story follows the adventures of a trayou. He goes on this epic journey to seek knowledge from some type of divine prophet. And he ends up making it through trial and tribulation, where he meets this fantastical mystical creature that is like a dragon. They're flying through the clouds, and it's just so epic and beautiful. Then they continue their journey, and there's this like manifestation of this dark evil called such the g gamork.
