The Conservative Party today struggles with the reality of its own decisions that it has made or reforms that it has accepted. Disraeli is getting at something about conservatism as an idea if it is only to conserve what you have inherited, if it's not based on something more than that. It took him 30 years to create the modern Conservative Party because then he goes on a journey trying to get to a position in which he can win power. And I think that the thing that Disraeli did that was in some sense a political genius and also observing carefully what was going on around him.
