Data Science Can Be Highly Impactful
Jonathan knollis says data science can be highly impactful. But as with any endeavour, i'd like to invoke a healthy scepticism. He thinks there's this naive assumption that if you use data in a decision, then that decision will be better. In practice, data can sometimes make decisions harder or get a less good solution. For instance, knowing everything you possibly could about how customers behaved in the old programme doesn't tell you very much about how they will behave once the new programe is available.
