We all thought they would. They bring things in that are polished being second. If you're going to be second, you need to be polished. Calling September-ary is not polished. Like Google should be pulling that off pretty easily and it's kind of wild that they are not. I think it wasn't ready yet, but they felt the pressure because GPT-3, chat GPT and stuff was already putting pressure on them and boiling it. And then GPT-4 came out and it just feels like OpenAI is racing at a speed that Google was not prepared for.
