The Portuguese Get Rid of Rhino Pestilence

The practice of giving exotic animal pets to potentates continued into the age of imperialism and colonization. A sultan in what is today Gujarat, this Gujarati pandit or whatever it would be, gave a rhino to Mughal. The Portuguese got to India where again, rhinos were thick on the ground compared to today. Finally, about 1400 years later, rhinos return to Europe as tourists.
