Why Did You Gravitate Towards a Philosophy Degree?

Chris James was a relatively new Christian when he went to Cambridge. He chose after school to study French philosophy, rather than theology. Why did you gravitate towards that? I've really felt the need over the years not to let my academic understanding of my subject outstrip my theological understanding. Francis Schafer was an early influence, incredibly helpful.
