The Reality of a Two Party System
Washington was concerned about the rise of parties and warned us against them, but it seems to me that the reality is far worse than what he had in mind. That we have these two parties. They're not governmental entities. They're private entities. And they control the rules by which candidates come on to television to debate,. Which means you can't get in front of the American people to give your point without the approval of either party.
