Prebiotics are found in a wide range of plant-based foods so I think for the general public there's no need to be taking a prebiotic supplement. Instead we can get probiotics from a range of different foods they can be found in things like live yogurt unfortunately not all yogurt on the market actually contains probiotics but things like kefir kombucha and things like kimchi sauerkraps also contain probiotics. If you're really adverse that and don't like the taste you don't it's not essential to have good gut health. You tend to pick up a lot of good bacteria from the environment and from little things like a little bit of dirt
