Lewis and Tolkien both grew up in environments where they were close to nature. Lewis's mother moved to Serholl, which is developed now, but it was a rural village like the Shire when he was a little boy. When you go to the new Narnia, it's out in the open. It's not a city. Untouch wilderness.
