I love how you talked about this idea with David Pirellen in his episode about the country as a corporation. I have this tangential idea, which is that we live in a wedged based society. Andrei Gore's idea is that membership in society is earned through formal employment. This is something people need to hear and they never heard it in their lives or never thought that this is their implicit assumption about work. You're not a bad person if you leave the employment world. And I know many friends in the corporate world working full time who are able to get a little looser in their relationship with work.
Paul Millerd is a writer.
In this conversation, we spoke about how his book has sold 12,000 copies in a year without him trying, why sabbaticals are the key, the problem with our wage-based society, and why Paul took the long, slow, stupid way but why it's paid off for him.
