The story of degalas is really kind of interesting, but in this really funny way. He was called on by the french state to assume power after an algerian coup. And he basically said we will give ourselves over to him so that he can re design our institutions and hopefully save the country. This is not any kind of normal democratic,. You know, you could have imagined like, oh, we have to have some kind of a, a, you know, committees to re design the constitution or something. It's always been interesting to me that this is, again, at least in the anglo sphere, I think this isn't really looked at that closely.
