The Simple Tale of Social Intervention
This is a combination of what we would know as a drug and alcohol rehab centre and a mental health acute facility. The most simple of referrals often tend to be the ones that you'll remember on your retirement dinner. I really loved working in the intake department which basically functioned as a mental health ER that operated 24 hours a day 365 days a year. We only got to spend a few hours with each client before either admitting them or referring them out. This facility averaged four to five hundred admissions per month and probably twice that amount were assessed and referred out. There are so many client stories that I have experienced. Many of them I've forgotten,. some of them I wish I could forget,
