Elisha and the She-Bears

The story of Elisha and the She-Bears is about a man who was jeered by children. He turns around, points to his bald head and says "Curse of the Lord be upon you" Two she-Bears come out of the woods and just like maul these kids and like kill them. But they didn't kill anyone? I think it was just a mauling.
