Stagg Was Not Allowed to Use Taylor's Name on His Whisky
Stag was using taylor's name on his distilleries, but he knew that wasn't enough. Took 13 years of litigation in the franklin circuit court in frankfort, kentucky. One would win one ruling, one would lose, and then the other one would lose. It was a back and forth sort of tennis match. At the end of 13 years, as taylor finally won, stagg was not allowed to use his own name. And it seems like common sense now, but this was breaking ground sort of litigation. In the 18 hundreds.
