The Promises of Jesus Return

Do the promises of jesus return and other associated events give us ansellary assurance that the human race will not first be totally wiped out by some other disaster? I have actually thought about this since my childhood, and i think the answer is yes. There is some reassurance in that not everyboy will be dead at the time of the second coming. However, that doesn't mean large chunks of the humanRace will not be extinguished by a nuclear war or a quantum black hole,. Or teliscan stof now o for firis, tomand iidn't even know that there was such a thing as a quanum black hole.
