Alexander kotov, how to think like a grandmaster is still a wonderful book. It ncapsilated a lot of the wisdom of the soviet school of chess. My grandmother gave me some useful tips and i would talk to my parents about what i was reading. Picked up reading very early. I think my first favourite book was by leonard kesler, who just died. And it was something like mister polines paints a house. But that was my favorite when i was three. Most of the books that my grandfather and father, who were the big readers of my life, most o the books they loved, i didn't love and struggled
