The data that you're probably going to get web scraping will be kind of messy. So it's actually interesting and most people, this is kind of why they don't like web scraping. You might have dollar signs that you need to strip out or commas or even some like non-printing characters. I use a lot of red jacks. If you're just trying to replace certain characters, you can just use replace,. Those kind of simple sort of methods.

Kimberly is a Senior Data Scientist at Metis Data Science Bootcamp in New York City. She holds a Ph.D. in applied mathematics. We talk about her switch from academia to data science, and discuss her passion for data storytelling and visualizations.
