Does She Really Trust Palpatine?
She recognizes that Palpatine is was a liar the entire time he was in power, right? Like she knows that. And what I thought was fascinating about what she said there was maybe how others might perceive what she says. She kind of like presents that as part of her sly wording in terms of trying to figure out if she can trust him or not. So the fact that the conversation just keeps rolling is just further evidence that she can trust this guy.
