Dernick was sharpening the edge of a sword that was destined for some knightly hero. He could tell he needed a different tact to get through to his young apprentice. You should always pay attention to your work, you should take pride in what you do. I make words for knights and lords, but i make my fair share of tools as well. If i make a sword that is off balance or ugly, i may get yelled at by some rich toss But if i make farmer frank a shovel and it breaks on a rock, that makes me feel worse.
