In India and China, the ultimate mystery of being is regarded as being absolutely beyond definition. In St. Thomas Aquinas he says only do we know God truly when we know that he lies beyond all that can be said or thought of God. For Kant time and space shut us away from experiencing and knowing their thing in itself,. which corresponds to that transcendent principle. Everything else is secondary to that goal - even religions are about giving an individual experience not simply a thought about it but an experience of identity.
