The Moral and Professional Problem in the Health Care Industry
Private equity firms have been very active in buying up what are called physician staffing companies, which essentially staff doctors in emergency rooms and so forth. The trick to the business model is you staff somebody outside of your provider network. A number of doctors from the American Academy of Emergency Medicine sued one of the private equity firms saying that they were perpetuating violated state corporate practice and medicine laws. But how about sending a few of these guys to jail?
