Is There Any Core Intuitions That You've Gained From Clinical Medicine?
In a similar spirit to Joshua's question I'm curious if there's any like core insights or intuitions that you feel that you've gained from either clinical medicine or having done field work on emerging infectious diseases. If you have never tried to be on the ground as the one actually implementing what it is that someone else designed then you can miss things that are obvious to people who have done that work. It was interesting for me when I was working in Kampala to see boxes and boxes of tests being brought in and it was clear that they were HIV tests that had been funded by programs like PEPFAR.
