A lot of times, and because I didn't come from an academic background at all, and I'm not thinking about my work as within the context of like a larger conversation. My goal was like, let me paint a portrait for those people of Scorsese's himself, his relationship to these things. And so in some ways that's very removed from trying to contextualize what you're saying within any kind of broader conversation. It's just, you know, just recontextualizing the text by like juxtaposing it against itself.
