Is Venture Capital the Final Form of Capitalist Innovation?
The venture capital model has completely embedded and sconced itself into being synonymous with national innovation policy in the US. And that's the benefit of being a hegemon. You can really, through tax laws and regulatory rules create an entire industry that then goes on to shape and lead the global innovation system. Venture capital now is basically given the reins like they are the only way to advance innovation. At least that's the kind of mythology that is built up around them.
