The Rise and Fall of Agrippina

When Sejanes warmed his way into the emperor's confidence and began his defacto rule of Rome when Tiberius retired to Capri, he was prevented from wielding absolute control over the empire. The Augusta had her own direct lines of communication to her son that Sejanes was unable to block. When in 29 the Augusta finally passed away, Sejanes put on a public face of mourning, but inside was ecstatic. He could now finally make his move.
