The Importance of ReVoice in Presbyterianism
Presbyterianism is a great example of the error you're trying to point out here, or at least we're guilty of it more often than say Baptists are. We have such an old tradition, and we've got a system in place for dealing with these kinds of things. But by the time Presbyterianism gets to the hot button, hot button issue, the fight's already over. Half of your congregation already believes and approves of the thing that you now have to deal with. And they are going to topple your organization from the ground up. It doesn't matter now if the general assembly decides something. You've already lost the people.
