Fuel for Fires

Drought creates drier conditions, obviously. And that creates fuel which is easier to burn. We very rarely see wild fires burning through the driest deserts on earth. But as long as you have enough moisture to grow fuel, then suddenly what we call the fire regime, or really this the way the fire burns. The fire becomes dependent, not on fuel, but on dryness. Over the last forty years, in th in the forests of the western united states and southern canada, if there's plenty to burn, all wened do is dri it out.
