"I feel like sometimes we reframe marketing round the wrong way which is we're sort of oh it takes time away from writing or whatever and we'd rather not do that," she says. "So there's this sort of push-pull tug feeling of I want to reach out, sell my books but also I want to help people." She was part of his first Kickstarter more than a decade ago when he had just gone so early days of crowdfunding. 'If you think someone else is going to do it for you think again,' she advises her fans.
